Smg shoots through walls?

Im not sure if this has happend to everything else, but people can shoot me and others through walls.

Is this a bug?

It is either lag or people are destroying the wall behind you.

no, it happens to me too, the smg & rifle can shoot thru walls as much as 3 blocks thick on occasion.
