[Tool] Key Mapper

Postby StackOverflow » Sun Mar 04, 2012 12:47 pm

There seems to be a lot of confusion lately regarding scan codes (more specifically DirectInput scan codes), so I decided to throw this together. This is originally from Spadille 1.5, but seeing as I'm not releasing that until 0.75 is released, this standalone version will do for the time being.

Just start it up and select your controls.ini file (it will attempt to find it on its own first).

It works with any version of Ace of Spades. Requires .NET Framework v2.0 or greater.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I assume that's in response to "Spadille 1.5". ;D

It'll be out after 0.75 is released.

Could you do a key mapper (or extend the current one) for a gamepad?

That would require some sort of key emulation/driver. I'm sure there are plenty that already exist for that very reason. This is merely for playing with a keyboard.

You could use JoyToKey. I've been using it on Ace of Spades and it works great.

Yeah, the keys are kind of cryptic (they're the default DirectInput names). I could change them to be more easily readable if it's really a problem.

Wow, I never knew keyboards can have so many keys, for example, what the heck is "Kanji"?
I just have the basic & classic 101 key keyboard.

Any chance you can make a mapper for mouse binds?
