I feel so loved here =). I think I've turned hating on us into a fad on these forums ;).

Edit: Can I ask you guys one thing (hopefully without getting super rage-tastic answers), why do you hate us so much? Do you not want to see progress in the Voxel-FPS genre? There's still room for Ace of Spades in all this. We have no intention of wiping out his hard earned following. That would be a very Zynga move of us ;). It's free, it runs on your grandma's computer (We can't do that), and it is fun. He offers certain things we cannot, so he will stay competitive with AoS. So what's the deal?

Tell us (aside from changing our graphics) what we can do better, instead of throwing rocks at my face, so to speak. I do want to learn from our haters, I just hope you'll let me know in a civilized manner.

We aren't selling weapons/perks (and we don't have a leveling system). They are incentives for the people who believed in us enough to pledge their hard earned money towards our cause. Why shouldn't they be rewarded for that? All videogame Kickstarters (well most) offer exclusive DLC for their backers.

Also, again, I have no intention of burying AoS. It's a free game, how could I even possibly do that? You own multiple first person shooters right? So why can't you play multiple voxel-based FPS games? I play Call of Duty, Battlefield, Homefront, Nuclear Dawn, Payday: The Heist, and a few other FPSes I can't remember off the top of my head. The great thing about video games is that people don't have to just own one product (like a Mazda vs. a Ford). We buy plenty of games from all different companies. I will continue to play AoS and I will even play B-F. Why would I deprive myself of playing fun games?

My sole purpose of coming here was because you guys are the only existing demographic that plays Voxel-based FPS games. B-F is growing and I will probably raise awareness for our game there too. You guys have the right to choose what you play, but I just wanted you all to know we existed...

I totally understand that. The problem is, we don't have any marketing company (indie devs after all) or an existing fan base to spread the news. Unfortunately, that means I have to do it myself. I'm sorry for making it sound too much like an "ad." We gotta start somewhere =/.

EDIT: I have decided that advertising myself, in forums, is not the right route to take. I'm sorry guys. I really didn't mean to piss you all off. If some mod could close the thread, I'd appreciate it. I hope you'll forgive me and at least give the game a chance when beta rolls around. Then you can tell your friends yourself. I'll leave you with that. If you want to find the gameplay trailer when it comes out, go to our website or kickstarter. I won't be posting here (at least as an Exato employee) anymore.

There is a still a bad feeling from your last visit on the old forums. You know the one where you pretended to be fan of guncraft. Before we discovered you were the developer, you and your friend were trolling threads stating how pathetic the devs that make AoS are.

Also, believe or not, you arent the only devs in the community not working on AoS. And we even have a developer who is working on a voxel fps. He actually likes AoS, so he came to the community as a fan. Later, he decided he could expand the concept and started his project.

I played the alpha build, it doesnt look like you guys are trying to tackle real time terrain manipulation. B-F is like that, but they aren't indies in any sense of the word.

I want to end on a good note. I have no doubt in my mind, if you ship a product you will build a community around it. Scrapping the audio from a CoD commerical and photoshop wont build your community.
