On the topic of "flares" it could be good to be able to plant them somewhere with a timer :)

Flares....

Would everyone be able to see them, or only your squad / team?

it would be a great way mark tunnel entrances. And in a rat maze it could highlight the correct path

yea thats what im thinking about :)
yes im not good at english grammar :P
maybe something like this:
you type /f into console, then select the option(what kind of flare) then you have to point the gun to the sky, and shoot.
That will create a color flare last for few seconds. but we cant see stuff through the fog, right? except the flare :)

Hm, console. Too much Source Engine.
We need something hud-friendly, since the OpenGL allows some basic huds.

Once we can have client-side scripts then that will be so many more options for stuff like this.

I'm not sure if someone already posted, but they should make sure that if you do respawn as a squad, you dont respawn into blocks. If anything, you could be able to choose where to respawn into a squad member.

This is already fixed, if this happens in a server then they are using an old version.

Here is how I think it should work,

Revival - After 5 seconds, you can choose to re spawn back at your team base, or wait to get revived. To revive someone, you crouch over them and hit a button, and it takes say 15 seconds, and then you re spawn where you died. You are in the squad that revived you.

Squads - You can join a squad. There is no leader. You can place markers by hitting say 7, 8, 9 - 7 is for "Enemies Here", 8 is for "Team Come Here" and 9 is for "Attack Here".

Thats it, oh and you can send up a flare on your map, it shows up for your whole team, used for telling your team "IM DEAD HERE CAN SOMEONE REVIVE ME!"

I would rather suggest a squad leader, someone who can set mark points on the map easily to coordinate tactics. (Point A, point B, etc). I doubt it would be easier to do than just throwing a flare up in the sky, but oh well. The idea of being able to mark the map whilst you are near the base seems like an alright idea to me.

It would be awesome if people could just draw on the map, but then you would also need admins/votes to disable anyone who is just scribbling

I suggested a radio device as an alternate for flares. Sicne radios wouldn't be able to be spotted by enemies, it's a one button click deal e.g. 'press R to send out your a distress signal to allies and give them ur position-perhaps you can see it on minimap) and it would be very strange if flares couldn't be seen by enemies.
