Nice propaganda there, trying to get everyone to believe that blue started the conflict and oppressed the greens. Why would blues even want to oppress the greens? Theres nothing to oppress in greenland, and thats why they started this war. They want the prosperity and freedom that the blues enjoy, and they'll do anything to obtain it.

P.S. Mods: Are there people out there that are that immature to cause you guys to change #uck to Duck?

I wrote and posted a backstory a long time ago, but my profile was deleted. It went a little something like this:

For centuries, the glorious nation of Blockistan reigned unquestioned as the foremost superpower in the world. Unmatched in the global theatre, its borders enveloped an entire continent from sea to sea. Blockistan owed its prominence in no small part to its renowned soldiers. Clad in their distictive blue uniforms, they were trained to manipulate the terrain around them, allowing them to dig trenches, build bridges, erect bunkers, even construct massive fortresses within minutes. No foe could match their master craftsmanship nor their ferocious tenacity. The Blockistani army secured the nation's borders without a challenge. Thus, it comes as no surprise that the greatest threat to Blockistan's sovereignty came from within.

One day, the point was made in the Blockistani parliament that in order to prevent the nation from collapsing on itself, it was necessary to keep the population under control. The statement was met with widespread agreement, and a series of bills were passed with the intent of keeping peace and stability. All major media organizations were stripped from private ownership and placed under control of government agencies, civilian gun ownership was virtually banned, CCTV cameras were placed in public areas, and the list went on and on. When the reforms were fully implemented, the members of parliament patted themselves on the back and returned to their daily routines.

Alas, the nation of Blockistan would soon learn that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Naturally, the reforms did not sit well with all of Blockistan's citizens, and widespread protests began. The more the government tried to crack down on the protests, the more they grew, and they soon grew out of control. In some instances, riots broke out in the streets. Soon, even the revered military became plagued with rebellion. In protest, the most rebellious soldiers ditched their traditional blue uniforms in favor of green attire. As the riots grew, more and more soldiers joined them, and before long entire units were joining the so-called "green brigade". With that, the Prime Minister put his foot down. He ordered the military to subdue and apprehend this "green brigade", with force if necessary. To his shock, the order was met with even more defections. The green brigade swelled, and green-clad soldiers began raiding government armories, arming themselves with the very same weapons with which they had built their nation. The rebellion had been formed.

The green brigade evolved into a full rebel army with its own chain of command. Wherever the loyalist army was deployed, the rebels were there, staring right back at them. Blue met green in the streets of the cities and the hills of the countryside. Each side stared at the other through the iron sights of their rifles, waiting for the other to make the first move. The nation fell silent, holding its breath in anticipation. The standoff continued for many weeks, with both sides locked in a stalemate. Finally, one day, a shot was fired from a rifle. Nobody knows who fired nor whose side he was on, but it is of no importance. That shot was answered with another, and that with yet another, and soon both sides had their guns blazing. Within the hour firefight erupted into a nationwide conflict, with blue and green troops in every corner of Blockistan were firing on each other. The Blockistani civil war had begun.

The war raged on for months, and only got bloodier with time. The government began drafting citizens into the army, with many of the draftees defecting on the spot as soon as they saw the rebels. While a grand number of citizens flocked to join the ranks of the rebel army, many still supported the government and enlisted to fight for it. Both sides' numbers continued to swell, resulting in more bloodshed and even more expansion. Many men were lost in the first few months, but regardless of the bloodshed, there was no end in sight.

The war continues to this day. Every minute more men are killed, and more families are torn apart. The once beautiful landscape has been ravaged. Entire mountains have been leveled to fuel the machines of war. Whenever the conflict spreads to a pristine region of Blockistani land, within a matter of hours, the landscape is unrecognizable. This is a world in which man and earth alike are ripped to shreds for the war effort. This is a world in which for any soldier, blue or green, any moment could be his last. This is a world where every second counts; every brick is a fortress. This is the world of Ace of Spades.

The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" meaning "good," "asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix.

It means growth, People may think its bad but it not. Let it be.

Really, this again?

Yes, they are a geometric symbol. The fact of the matter, however, is that people build them to offend people. That is the only reason that they are constructed. They serve no useful purpose whatsoever.

This leads to the other issue here of the encouragement of pixel art; AoS is not for pixel art. When you make something more aesthetic than a flag, you are wasting space on your team.

EDIT:

Reuben, you're the quintessential Swatstika builder, and honestly, you're really nothing more than a troll. You can make the argument that it's all about the power you assign to it, but at the end of the day, you're still being a pretentious asshole who hides behind a thin veil of being a civilized and well mannered individual.

It's honestly astounding to me that you have such a hard time understanding that no matter how nice you say something, it still means the same thing at the end of the day. For example, I could call you retarded, or I could say that you had a mental deficiency. At the end of the day, we're talking about the same thing.

deuce was a real deuce, as he basically spoiled one of our national symbols - the cross of thunder...
I mean, noone really cares, if it's clockwise or counter-clockwise, so Latvians can't use the cross as an ornament anymore.
A shame, really, as it actually looks nice.

So, yea, it's really a Latvian symbol. Check this page (google translate?):

Nice to see you're the almighty determiner of reason. I know you're in AP Psych or whatever you said, but you're not Freud just yet.

Nice to see you've also found the time to pursue a secondary career in being the supreme commander of the game's purpose.

Yeah, I pretty much am. The only thing is, I'm actually nice to people who are nice to me. As for "nothing more than a troll", well that's a manner of opinion, is it not? I'm pretty sure most of the things I say are legitimate and serious, but what do I know, I only said it.

As for that last part, the only thing I got from that is "I cannot believe that you're disagreeing with me, how dare you. Clearly you're an idiot" which just speaks for itself.

The thing is, you hate me, and I have literally no clue why. My first (and only, so far) in-game encounter with you has been on Minit, where you insulted my friends and I, when we haven't even met once. So I ask, just why do you hate me, and why did you hate me before you even knew me?
