Assuming that all clans use tags that are three characters in length (ignoring case and what separates the tag from the username), you have a 1/17576 chance of accidentally impersonating any one clan. Consider the fact that only 6 of the 19 currently "official" clans have three (letter) character tags-- that's a little under 1/3. That gives you (roughly) a 1/52728 chance of accidentally impersonating any one clan. I estimate maybe 50 active clans, so you're back to around a 1/10000 chance of impersonating *any* clan. Add a variable tag length (even 3 -or- 4 chars) and the odds skyrocket.
I've probably screwed something up there and I know I just did something terrible but I'm tired leave me alone ;~;
Besides, I think you'd notice if you were impersonating a clan. Even if you didn't, if it were really a problem I'd assume that you'd just be asked to remove the tag, so it doesn't seem like too much of a big deal.
