kick happy players.

Postby patrickco » Tue Jul 31, 2012 12:42 am

I am an honest AOS player and I'm really nothing special, sadly it's gotten to the point on public servers recently where one good kill streak or a lucky shotgun shot can get you kicked of the server by vote kicks. It's happened to me 3 times in the last few days and I've seen it happen to many other people I could see where not hacking, it's really quite sad anyone with any experience on this game can't play without getting crapped on by newer players who don't know how to differentiate an skilled player from an aim bot. just my 2 cents on this issue, discuss below your opinions on the matter and what you think should be done (if anything).

I've had some players not know what an airstrike is and votekick me for getting 4+ grenade kills. It's quite amazing how some players can be so ignorant.

Another problem with the spike in the player base. We just mess around with them and say its grenade hacks. They also believe there is a aim bot command /aimbot on. Face Palm

Pro tip: Dont play aloha servers. Some aloha servers hardly have admins watching them.

To add on to that; I wouldn't suggest joining 24/7 hallway servers either. Many deuces play there and easily assume that a skilled player is hacking and start a votekick. Only 2 votes, and you're out.

A lot of Deuces also complain about stuff like this even though there is many threads about this already.
We need a complaint section.

Aloha servers are some of the most heavily moderated servers. And the Aloha.pk is the only Hallway server that I know of, and our votekicks don't need only 2 votes. And Rydogger, lots of admins go in in disguise,..

Well they dont do much when they're incognito. I've seen several people falsely votekicked for "hacking" or "lag hacks" when the player had a .25 ratio and was going 5-20. For the server chain that has been here since like .35, Im expecting more when it comes to admins guarding the players.

You have to understand, we can't be online 24/7, because [Mostly] we have lives. AND a lot of the times, its only guards on, and guards can't ban or kick. Guards report the people so they can be banned or tempbanned later.

Then maybe you should let the guards ban. Not as in permaban, but as in say a 3 hour ban. aloha.pk is doing it wrong.

There are servers named "24/7 Hallway" and "24/7 Hallway2".

The problem with aloha is:

They don't have enough admins that go on their less popular servers.

And servers like pinpoint and hallway, while there is almost always an admin on. There are too many griefers/aimbotters/general garbage than one admin can handle.

We can't really stop people from evading bans, and aimbotting. What we can do, is keep them away for a while. It is virtually impossible to ban a person forever from the server, unless we do a range-ban, which can keep whole countries from playing.
