The ones such as the late GoonHaven and Aloha servers have good admins.
Any server that has a host website usually has a good community.

Yeah, the late Goonhaven which was lost at the hands of a community manager who doesn't even play the game anymore...

Anyway, I don't know why people seem to think Minit and Aloha are so great. Minit always has people online but as long as they're there they cancel your votekicks, and it's difficult to ever get an admin on Aloha.

The OP kinda sounds like a BR...

@OP
Welcome to most gaming communities. There are literally kids everywhere on the Internet. Maybe less in some gaming communities, more in others. Ace of Spades is a game with lots of young kids (pls there are kids in here), and a lot of foreign (Polish/Brazillian) children. You asked for moderators, I take it English isn't your first language, so I'm assuming you mean admins. I personally take votekicks of me hacking as compliments. Jokes aside, it is extremely frustrating and annoying as a player to see these votekicks, and being insulted and called names isn't fun either. Try to ignore it, and focus on the game. Use the /admin command if the servers have an IRC channel set up. As a player, you must be aware of how you (yourself) ultimately choose your own gaming experience, by deciding which servers you play on.

I can guarantee you that most servers (such as JestServers.com) are probably the lowest of the low, absolutely 0 admins are to be found, and votekicks are constantly abused. Not to mention there are at least a group of hackers on every Jest server. There are "trusted servers" which are basically people from the community have volunteered to help administrate the servers, such as Minit.

Votekicks are cancelled for a reason; that reason is for admins to investigate or if they don't think they deserved to be vk'd (on Minit). I honestly don't understand why you continue dissenting about how people cancel your votekicks on Minit, do something about it. Don't just complain about it on the forums here.

Aloha? They have a few admins but their IRC is a mess, and it's pretty much all anarchy unless you can get on #aloha (Quakenet) or play with admins.. last time I've played on any aloha server it was enjoyable (except for pinpoint of course). People seem to behave well on there, so try their servers too.

JestServers shouldn't even be listed.

The last time I played was several months ago. An admin was protecting a couple hackers from votekicks. We're talking obvious hackers, spawnkilling entire waves in 2 seconds kinda hacking.

I've never been back.

Every admin tells me that but it's impossible to get anyone kicked. They always insist on *investigating* simple accusations (IE Griefing) even though I play there all the time. Then they'll only kick the person for a day. Anyone who abuses rules should simply be banned from the server forever. Tolerance should be absolute zero (obviously there has to be some leeway to prevent errors, but the simple fact is that if an admin observes someone deliberately griefing, that person should be banned). It's worse when you get trolls on there, because every admin I've ever come into contact with on Minit doesn't even bother kicking (Thalagyrt had a wonderful friend known as the... I believe "GTFO Giraffe"... Ah, how I miss his rage blackouts...)

Aloha is great when admins are online. They're prompt to respond, but yeah, the IRC is a mess. takes hours to get answered and they're slow to respond. If they're playing with you, they'll almost always kick based on the merit of knowing you, and they're always friendly. That's when they're online though :P

@Tai

There is almost always a Guard/Mod/Admin on Last team standing or Pinpoint. And even on the other servers, there are staff there too a lot of times. Admins literally camp at the IRC and wait for someone on any of the servers to go , 'haxor/Giraffier/troller/glitcher/etc'. Most of the time, if an admin ignores pleas for help, it is because they aren't hacking/griefing/trolling/glitching etc.

I enjoy the Aloha servers, but when you get on the map, it's almost like Swiss cheese. There are so many grenade holes and tunnels that you have to play hopscotch to get where you want to. I also rarely see an admin on there. Same goes for Shams, except I do see admins on there every once and a while.

The problem is that staff can't always be on. We have to remember everybody has a real life outside of Ace of Spades to attend to-which I might add, is much more important than banning a hacker, griefer, etc. More staff could be added, but that could cause problems with the other staff. It's all timing. I would say avoid servers that have a reputation for hackers going unnoticed.

"Investigating" grief is either using the griefcheck command or following the person around. Usually there are builders that try to accumulate blocks by destroying other buildings, which "appear to be griefing". I'm not sure who told you griefers only get kicked for a day, I can assure you that isn't normal admin etiquette.

Banned from the server forever? Wow, that's harsh, the only people that get permabans are aimbotters and cheaters.

The in-game community is literal crap. I play mainly the aloha Pinpoint server, and it's so bad there. However, generally there will be at least one, likely two or three people who are actually playing, talking, and socializing. Along with using team work.

I don't know, handing out permabans to anybody trying to ruin the game for others seems pretty fair. People need to learn.
