Weapon models, big or invisible?

Weapon models, big or invisible?

Postby GdesvQ » Thu Jul 05, 2012 9:05 pm

I have the following dilemma, which is better, to have a invisible weapon model that allows you greater vision such as the ones that pro-Quake and such player use OR a model that allows you see the enemy easily.

Now I know that overly-large weapon models that discover enemy positions are frowned upon in most servers but lets take the default rifle model, I have discovered a lot of enemies because I could see their gun sticking out of a block or just in an open space.

So discuss which you think is better and why.

For me it would be more useful to have more screen space.

Well, the first option doesn't really make sense, in my opinion, since weapons take up a very small portion of your screen, and the second option is cheating, I can't really decide

Invisible weapons would be retarded because you cant tell what weapons they have.

That is true, I didn't think of that, I suppose that does make models more useful in this game that invisible ones.

I think there should be a maximum size for weapon mods. Some rifle skins are so long its ridiculous. I understand some people want detailed weapons, but the closer they are to the original weapon sizes the better. seriously, what up with rifle stocks that are 3 feet behind the deuce's shoulder?

I would suggest the default guns or something of the same size
they are the perfect sizes
you won't know when an enemy is already aiming at you if your gun is too small or too big

A guy who I was playing with yesterday was using a modded gun skin that had a pole going in the sky so he could see where everyone was nomatter what. Naturally, he was pwning yet noone votekicked him.

There needs to be a limit on how big guns can be

Yeah, I don't know why there isn't a limit on models, I know that bodypart models are limitedso people can't see them behind cover.
