There's definitely a bug with destroying blocks at a distance, in that you can't destroy them at all. Perhaps this was the intention, but then babel would be a whole new game.

Also, I don't care much for the text shadow. Learn_more's mod loader has a half transparent box. Perhaps a feature to enable or disable something like this would be better. As it is now, even with the shadow lots of text is still mostly unreadable.

Other than that, I'm pleased with the update.

To you shotgun haters: You don't go into war with your daddy's deer gun. Police shotguns hold 7+1. I'll probably still never use the shotgun, but it needed an improvement.

I personally would make the rifle a bolt action that holds 4 and does 51 damage on body shots. That said, its fine where its at: a weapon for pros.

Right now it does over 51... It does 67.

Holy crap. Why are people complaining then? Old body shots were 49, right?

I just saw your values, everyone should look at that

TheSifodias wrote:New Updates:
-Rifle Damage(without fallout)
- Headshot: 100 hp
- Body: 60-70 hp damage(so 2 hits= death)

SMG:
-Headshot: 60 hp damage. 1 bullet.
- Body: 40hp damage. 1 bullet.
- Limbs: 20 hp damage with 1 bullet.

Shotgun couldn't be tested.

EDIT: Final proof that rifle isn't underpowered:
- Limb Shot w/ Rifle: 50 damage. No fallout.

The new rifle in .76 is appalling.

Postby DynomicPierre » Sun Jul 08, 2012 4:18 am

I'd take the old rifle any day, the lowered fire rate and clip size is totally obnoxious. All these nerfs for the rifle that have been done are unnecessary, perhaps it isn't even the rifle, but other weapons. There really doesn't have to be such a nerf. It's things like this that are causing Ace of Spades to lose its spice.

In AoS, things are quite different then other traditional games, the rifle was a good CQC weapon if you had good aiming ability, long range and medium range. Of course, people didn't go into the fray with a rifle on purpose normally, they would use it like any other rifle. But, this doesn't mean that the usefulness of the rifle must be halved.

Please, bcoolface, mat^2, Grandmaster, somebody, please do not let this nerf go by.

No shit about the damage.
Oh, blocks can't be destroyed over a distance? Could be the damage-falloff-though-distance or a bug.

I don't know really, thank god we have the old accuracy back. And even higher damage, and in order to compersentate that, we have lower fire rate and smaller clip.

So, you want the rifle to be the all-purpose do-everything OP weapon

Accuracy>everything else. Those of us from back in the day understand this better than anyone else.

You didn't read my post clearly, I didn't say that. I want the rifle to be how it was, not the way it is now, in case you don't get what I am saying.

its back to being %100 accurate though. You dont even need to aim down the sights, the bullet goes to the tiny dot every time. even if youre moving. Head shots are 1 hit kills, and body shots are 2. The slower clip and fire rate just makes an even playing field against smgs and shotguns. You probably reload after every 3 shots anyways.

really, the rifle is still the best all purpose weapon in the game. Only its a tiny bit more fair now.

If you're not referring directly to the OP, maybe you should quote the post you are referring to. No hard feelings, just hard to tell.
