If we let most applicants in, the clan will eventually overcrowd, like the komrades, and it would be hard to keep track of the members. I definately think the test matches for possible recruits should be arena. I agree with OddFuture on how the teams should be organized. I'm not sure on the minimum kills part. It is a good idea but it's also not in my opinion. It would be good if we used the KDR, not the kills unless the applicant has a really high amount of kills(And by this I don't mean just the first place player. They have to be way beyond the others in kills.) But overall, this is a great idea.
OddFuture's idea did seem very plausible. As I said in the topic-post, it is important that we all realize that if our applicants are going against our testers, then they will be going against the best our clan has to offer, which would be some of the best players across all the servers/clans. It would help even it out to a degree.
I also very much like your suggestion about basing it more on ratios.. If it's going to be Arena, at least. Because, honestly, I don't really know how to make testing work otherwise.. Arena seems like the sure-fire thing to do; but there are problems.. Like what if say.. TylerSAW (he's in TSB now), was on one team and Otsoom was on the other? Well if it's a good map for sniping, Tyler is going to dominate the whole map, if he or any other member of TSB kills off the whole team.. Our applicants won't really receive any kills and therefore won't have anything to prove they are very good.
We could have a tester spectating the match.. We also need to decide on how many testers we should select (2 - 6, I'd say.. Possibly 4 main testers, 2 for backup?)
Anyway, I do like basing it on ratios, I just don't see how testing would really work in an arena environment given the example as listed above. Eddie is going to be setting up a lot of the way testing works, he is the only member of TSB that does testing; since he has experience with it, he's a great player, and an admin here at TSB.. The only logical answer is to have him play a significant role in setting it up. I don't believe Arena would work, a timed game would be much more appropriate. I do like the idea of basing it off KDR though, anyone can get 100 kills and die 100 times, but only a great player can get 40 kills and die 10 times.
I don't think we'll base it on a 4.0 KDR, I personally think if they manage to get anything above a 1.6 by the end of the match that they should be highly considered. It shouldn't be a set ratio there should be some judgement behind it as well... Almost like a grading sheet, if you will.
And thank you for the support everyone ^_^
I'm setting up the server box right now for extensive remote access (New user account.. Security.. Port Forwarding.. Etc.), I will be giving Stealth the server credentials shortly and we should have a server up and running sometime between Sunday and Wednesday. ^_^
