I was thinking about the auto updater, which allows Ben to update and make small corrections quickly and efficiently. Then I was browsing the forums and for the first time I realised just how big the modding community in AoS is. It's huge, most everyone seems to use anything BUT the default gun's/sights. I swear I've even seen a grenade skin shaped as a kitchen sink before now.
And on these new forums alone, the mod's section has over sixteen THOUSAND posts and over a thousand topics, that's over a thousand different threads with probably many time's that number of skin's.
My idea was when the auto updater is fully working, to run community design events. To design the best semi/smg/shotgun skins and add them to the game via the auto update for a period of time, maybe a week, maybe a month, maybe a day. Anything.
You're giving the community a competition, with a fantastic reward. And the community will vote on the submissions in a poll. It will really bring to bear this amazing creativity that some of our players posses.
What do you think?

Some Q&A's
ReubenMcHawk wrote:Good idea in concept, but it'd just become too complicated, what with people possibly not wanting to use the mods or something. Not to mention the possible legal BS involved when the game becomes monetized.
In the launcher you could tick a box "Default" and switch to the original skins or the "Featured" box. And then requirements for entering the event is full release of intellectual property rights for the duration the skin etc is being used in the launcher.
