bingo! each shot is more important now, so be more careful and make sure you hit your target. missing could be the difference between life and death.
Propaganda. Missing met the difference between life and death anyhow. Now it's just more infuriating, because while the SMG is getting it's ammo increased (meaning it's less of a life/death situation for anyone opting to use the SMG), the rifle is getting nerfed. This is just Ben's way of opening up the game to "M0AR GUNZ!!@!" for the COD players to use; he's moving away from the slow paced nature of the rifle to the spray and pray guns like the SMG (and later the machinegun and grenade launcher).

Note that this is a release candidate, it is not the final release.
Irrelevant. Before .75, no one wanted to put rifle accuracy back to being the luck-of-the-draw that it was, and Ben pushed it on people anyways, and we've now been playing with it for months. It's like if you removed the spade from the game and said "Oh, don't worry, it's not final, we're just trying it out."

You might have, and a whole lot of the COD kiddies might have, but I don't remember having asked for it. The weapons system was unbalanced but not broken in .70. If you had a shotgun in a tunnel, you were golden. If you had a rifle on pinpoint, golden. SMG on basically any other map; golden. It was all about whether or not you could work together to get the shotgunner to clear out the bunker of snipers, or get the sniper through SMG crossfire to start camping the other team.
And to those (fluttershy) saying the shotgun was OP, it's being made better in .76, whereas both SMG and Rifle are getting nerfed, just so the noobs who use shotgun incorrectly don't moan and bitch about getting killed all the time.
