Who is HAPPY about AoS

Postby Benton » Wed Jul 04, 2012 6:49 pm

Hey guys,

I have gotten VERY tired at the amount of hate that AoS is getting with new updates, and going buy to play
In my mind, if they don't like the direction the game is going they can do two things. Play the game. Or leave.

But I want to hear from you, the people that are in FAVOUR of AoS going buy to play, the people that actually like the updates, and the direction the game is going. I am in total favour of this game both going buy to play and in favour of the direction of the game as a whole. I never have any lag problems. I find aimbotters get kicked easily, and if not I move to another server. I want to hear from you now!

I'm not happy with AoS NOW, but I kinda like the way it is heading. The main problem with this update, for me, is the hit detection that still makes some of my shots a mess some times, and, of course, the shotgun. I still do, sometimes, get lag spikes, but they are not as frequent as they were right after .75 was out. With the auto-updater, I really expect blitz-updates, with minor fixes for bugs and stuff, and the MMG and the RPG are looking nice.
About it going b2p, I'm not really sure. I might buy it, depending on the final product, but I will still go on with modding, regardless of me buying it or not, or it having a free version.

You don't get to have your cake and eat it too.

Too much time is wasted on aesthetics, not enough time spent on core game issues. I'm not dropping a penny on this until the simple things are addressed and resolved.

Yeah, happy isn't close to how I feel in regards to AoS and the direction it's been going.

Things are getting better and this will be a full game in no time. When it becomes easier to run servers and make custom maps, the game will be the best. I'll have no problem buying it then.

One Word: Auto-Updater

I do remember seeing a post saying that the lack of updates was caused by the lack of above said tools, with an auto-updater, updates will be a lot more frequent

As soon as 1.0 comes out, so will an aimbot. I highly doubt an auto-updater, OpenGL or new guns will fix this.

Hopefully a new anti-cheat script will allow all this cool stuff to go to use.

If I have a problem with aimbotter, I normally can kill them or votekick them. Complaining about aimbotters is like complaining about the bullies at school. Yes, they are a problem but it could be easily fixed if people actually did something.

I'm very happy with AoS' current state, the lag is completely gone (for me, at least), I like the weapon accuracy and other changes.

I couldn't be more happier, IMO, 0.75 is way better than 0.70, although I do admit that the shotgun is broken.

If rather not have to pay for AoS but I'll pay for it if it does happen. The con to having to pay is well...you have to pay. And the fact that not as many people would be on the server. The pro is it will keep some of the trolls and hackers out and AoS will make more money so the game will improve even more. The final result: I'm for either way.

But this one is different.
This one is a first person shooter,

I think what you gotta understand though is the people who are complaining are generally the people who really like the game and want to see it succeed. It just happens everyone has slightly different views on which direction the game should head in.

IrishElf, whenever I go to post something you always have beaten me to it. The only thing I'd have to add is that we don't need MG/Grenade Launcher, and we have to go back to the .70 weapons settings.

Helicopters are a terrible idea, period, but I wouldn't rule out vehicles altogether per se.

That's the problem though, people don't do anything, because half of them are Brazilian or Polish and can't even speak English... that, and they're usually more interested in digging into the sides of mountains and building neon-coloured "houses" than playing the game.

User warned, double posting, please stop Tai there's an edit button. ~Doc

I think this is a problem with the limited servers. People need to find servers close to where they are for the best connection. There also should be some build/grief servers. Hopefully custom game/map creating and hosting will become easier before 1.0

I a quite enjoying the direction the game is going, with the new auto-updater and eventually Open GL and stuff. As far as buy to play, I don't think that that will happen for a while, but If it does, I will gladly purchase AoS. Yes, there are balance issues every update, but they usually don't last long. I'm content with the game, but if you don't agree with me, that's just fine. You're the one who isn't having fun because they're wasting to much time not enjoying the game and nit-picking about it's problems.
