We can now play older versions of AoS!

Contrary to the popular belief that we can't play AoS because of the master server disconnections, it has been proven by /V/ that we can. We used a private .51 server. You can play old AoS by following these steps:

1) Download an old version of AoS

2) Run a server

3) Memorize the link of your server so you can give the link to others who would like to join your server

Now we don't really need Ben to make a "Classic" AoS anymore!

To me, common sense would dictate you wouldn't necceserily need the master server....?

Only if you wanted to appear in the listings you used the master.

Yeah, but this is a community that lacks common sense where everyone thought you needed the master server to use old versions. Hopefully we can at least have a small group of people playing classic.

Yeah, older versions did need the master server, before Ben gave the option to not have a server hosted on the play page. And besides, if someone tried hard enough, they could probably find a way to remove the master server check or spoof it or something.

Run the newest installer, and it'll let you remove the game.

Yep, you have to remove the newest version of AoS.

But if you don't want to reinstall it later just to play older version, you could try to move it back and forth between trash bin and your folder :D
