Click and Drag Poll

Postby danhezee » Wed Feb 01, 2012 5:16 pm

Click and Drag is turning into quite the controversy. I believe Click and Drag is the natural progression of what makes AoS great. I think it is a feature that stays true the essence of the game.

I think its a great idea.

It revolutionises building, makes a quick defence easier to set up (i.e a wall) and paves the way for future additions such as mortars and artillery me thinks.

And it also makes it easier to create custom maps ingame! :D

If you vote yes you are only supporting the death of the true AoS.

Voted indifferent, as personally, it seems like a good addition although there might be some drawbacks. I don't think the game is missing anything without it, but it'd seem an interesting and functional addition anyhow.

This poll is flawed...since two out of three options allow click+drag, there's a higher probability of one of them winning :D

Unless, of course, the ace of spades community is not shaped like a bell

I vote yes, I haven't used it and it might be fun, so I do not see why not. if it is really so bad, it will probably just get removed

"Is Click and Drag staying true to the essence of AoS?"

That really, really, really was not the question at hand.

I think I'd need to see it, along with the gameplay it produces, before I can vote.
Testing shall be coming up soon, so hopefully I can comment on it here when the time comes.

@Artic:
It's an alt-fire, I think there's now a shift-right/right/left click system with blocks, with choosing block colour (I think) being moved to the shift-click function, and having ordinary placing as left click, click and drag as right click. Don't pin me on that one, but again we'll see the proper implementation sometime soon.

<@mikuli> the bad part in this plan is that it involves an already busy tea-drinking scone chomper with a monocle

Uff I can't really comment on it before I have seen it.

But I guess it'll be fine if we get concrete blocks, which can't be placed like this.

I agree with articsledder, should be optional.
