HELP WITH PLACING BLOCKS

Hi, so I've been playing aos for a while without any problems. Recently, however, I cannot place any blocks. My block count goes down, and it shows the highlighted square, yet it doesn't actually show a placed block. Also, when I try to dig, the block just keeps getting darker and darker and doesn't disappear or smash or whatever. Then it goes back to normal. This is happening on all of the servers I have been trying recently. Please help! This also happens when I try to destroy a square with my gun.
