I'd pay for it if a certain bug was fixed that disconnects me from a server every 5 minutes.
Also, there is nobody here who can't afford to pay, they're just being cheap, and those people don't tend to be the best to play with either as the majority of idiots (People who think names like XxQuIKSc0p3ZzxX) and cheaters, who nobody likes.

No I won't. :)
I will be playing the epic and free games Urban Terror and Special Forces for the rest of my gaming life.

EDIT

Unless there is an ad system that requires you to watch a stupid ad everytime you play, which would be alright for me.

AOS won't get more popular with that 10$ idea. I'm sorry, but either I'll hack this game or go play MC (I'll hack it too), UrT 4.1, Q3, CS 1.6, TF2.

You probably can't hack it because it relies on forum account. And there will be a feature when ou can't use it if your account isn't registered to a .json and I'd you forum name isn't there because you didn't pay then you won't be able to play.

Well, it depends on a number of factors for me. If its as shitty, for me, then as it is now, probably no. If my Internet is as poor then as it is now, probably no. If I have a means to pay, at that point, probably yes, as long as what I mentioned before doesn't come to pass.

I said no, because as things stand now, with my Internet, the games current performance and the likelihood of me having a means to pay, i probably wouldn't/couldn't.

I would pay because I enjoy the game, and Ben deserves it. Investing into the game may also allow for him to devote more time to its development, for any who are unhappy with it.

be prepared to lose at least 80 percent of the playerbase if its not freeware. because the fact it was free was the main thing drawing people in.

I agree with bobo. Many people are going to leave because this game is fun and free, and it's going to become paid for, which is a shame. (though the creator does deserve it after his hard work) I won't be buying it either, because I don't have PayPal or a credit card either.

It's not fair to the big clans for them to fall down and It's not fair to the players who have been here a long time and doesn't want to pay for a game, So I think the people who are already here gets to play freely and the people who Isn't playing yet has to pay for it. But no, In this stage, I wouldn't pay for it.

Nicely said, Eric. It kinda pisses me off that I'm going to lose such fun freeware and the friends I've made here on the forums. There should be a registration deadline to get it free, or maybe have the person recommend it on their blog or social network wall to get it free as well.

I am planning on buying this game, I know that Ben can fix the current issues before its time for us to start paying.

I think that Ben should make a post prior to 1.0 coming out that describes why we should buy the client. He should be detailed in what the client has to offer and where he is going to take the game after 1.0, which could include both content and how long he plans on updating the game. Basically, I think he has an obligation to not only tell us what we're buying, but what we're buying into with future updates.

Either way, I know that I will spend the 5-10 dollars needed to keep enjoying this game.

Oh noes! This game will be totally suck without 80% of the playerbase (i.e. 100% of the 12 year olds) calling everyone hackers and gay!

Plus, how are the devs going to be able to afford to maintain this game without all the free players playing for free?

+1
Helicopters, ammo/health boxes, turrets/mortars, launcher with mod-loader and autoupdater, maybe a paintcan for recoloring blocks, rpg addition, aiming algorythms, cahir-centered gamemode, additions like different models/guns for each side to name a few...
And OpenGL client, of course.

Also, I want to be able to turn into Optimus Prime (FireTruck & Autobot Mode), I want CAPES!, Custom Skins, Ferraris, Humvees, Monsters Trucks, I want 4 story tall Bosses, Ryu from Streetfighter including Hadoukens, Fatalities, Babalities, Friendships, Animalities, Special Moves, Fireballs, Mushrooms, Zombies and Skeletons, every gun from Counterstrike and in-game pop-ups that remind me it's time to take a bathroom break because sometimes I forget.

UNTIL THEN I WILL NOT SPEND A DOLLAR ON THIS GAME!

I cannot wait for this game to go P2P.

It will (hopefully) get rid of the immature kids (not saying all the 12 year olds are immature, but the vast majority are).

The only thing that my be bad with this setup is that some of the more mature players that live in country's that restrict online transactions or even 15-16 year olds that live in the US whos parents don't allow them to buy the game.

Well online transactions are always a problem. You can't accommodate everyone. Although, PayPal is pretty much universal. If for some reason you can't use PayPal in your country like 99.9% of the world can then maybe it's time to move.

Other than that, if they offer gifting options then players can work something out with each other.

Heck, if this game goes into a Minecraft like account system, I'll just search up some free accounts on Yahoo answers.
