I have a question.

How is the server able to detect if you are using an x-ray texture. Now I'm not a genius but I'm pretty sure this is not possible, for it to work there would have to be something that looks into the players MC and see if they are using one... Unless you mean X-RAY mod which then, clarifies a lot.

Not sure what they mean, but all of the anti-Xray packs I've seen work the same way; if an ore isn't exposed to air, then it won't render it as that ore block. Or it'll render all stone blocks as an ore, which from personal experience, is obnoxiously laggy.

Pretty sure it'd work the same way with the texture packs, so not sure why they're saying it's undetectable.

Server is unable to detect it, it's even mentioned in OP. Only way to fight with x-rays that I know is to require all players to use spoutcraft, which sends you one of texture packs uploaded on server every time you log in.

@Rauben - finding ores is smallest problem with x-rays. More important is - finding enemy base, seeing sneaking enemies through the wall, finding hidden treasures, finding dungeons, strongholds and mineshafts without any effort, ect. + you can still see ore that is exposed in caves.

There is bukkit plugins that make it so ore is a completely different texture like stone until revealed.

I am afraid to announce that the server has shut down.

As future updates of Ace of Spades comes out, he'd prefer to use his resources on that rather than on Minecraft.

The Goon Haven/WTFCraft server is still up as well. :)

NOTE: The RoT and WTFCraft servers are different. WTFCraft is centered around factions PvP/dungeon exploring/storyline. We have some restrictions on PvP to try to ensure a fair chance for everyone.

I believe RoT is based more upon unrestricted PvP and clans (not factions). Both servers have their own quirks, and I suggest checking both out before finally deciding which is best for you.

Ours is basically a faction server with very few rules, such as no hacking, etc...

I've been meaning to give you guys' server a try, I might soon. :D
