What I like about this
- Less hacks ( due to the registration system less hackers will be out there. ( Only if you want to waste your money )

What I dislike
- Clans will fall. Most people play this game because It's free, 50% Minecraft 50% FPS and... It's free.

AoS possibly costing 10 bucks or something would NOT MAKE IT P2P. It would make it B2P (Buy2Play).

Pay2Play means AoS would become a subscription service and require a monthly fee to play.

I for one would have no problem paying a "box" price for AoS.

While doing so would cut down on the number of players, I don't think it would cut down on the percentage of haxxors and cheaters. Cheaters still gonna cheat.

AoS updating their anti-hack measures then issuing mass global bans would be something that would cut down on hackers.

Pay2Play means you pay to play the game. Doesn't matter if it's subscription payment or a one time payment, it's paying to play the stinkin' game.

Who plans on buying Ace of Spades 1.0?

Postby ReubenMcHawk » Fri Jun 08, 2012 6:51 pm

I was going to post this in AoS Talk, but it wouldn't let me make a poll in there, and I was told that I was apparently expected to put it here. So I suppose if this is in the wrong place, a moderator should move it to the right place for me.

I'm a bit curious as to who actually plans to buy Ace of Spades once it goes paid in version 1.0. Feel free to vote on this, as well as post your reasoning as to why or why not.

I myself am a bit on the fence at the moment. The game is fairly buggy and laggy currently, and if that's not fixed by 1.0 I don't see myself paying for it. I'd also like to see something nice, like a "loyalty discount" or something for older community members, as a way of saying thanks. If the lag, accuracy, etc... are all fixed by 1.0 I'll more than likely buy it if I have the funds available.

Note: Regarding price, everything I've heard suggests it'll be somewhere around $10. Don't hold that against me, just wanted to point that out for anyone who might have an issue with that.

It surprises me that an outspoken community member like yourself is suddenly pissed off that it might cost 10 bucks.

I discovered AoS instead of playing minecraft because:
1. Mc didnt work on my PC with its f***ing graphics card.
2. I didnt want to pay

The second reason is the main reason.

If the bugs are fixed and depending on price, yes, I'm willing to pay for it.
Put another option on the poll: "Depends"

I as well am on the fence. Things really have to improve to even consider paying. Though, because I dont have any money, I doubt I will, right away atleast. So, in this case, probably not.

I don't know when the registration system Is going to come in. But the people who register before ''such and such date'' should be able to play freely. It's not fair to the big clans for them to fall down and It's not fair to the players who have been here a long time and doesn't want to pay for a game, So I think the people who are already here gets to play freely and the people who Isn't playing yet has to pay for it. But no, In this stage, I wouldn't pay for it.

I will probably buy it, depending on how much it costs.

What's not fair? That they've been playing for free all this time. I guess you're right though...if we lost all the "big" clans because their players were too cheap to spend 5 or 10 bucks on a game they've invested SO MUCH TIME into it would just like destroy the game community and it would like TOTALLY be like super unfair. Plus, there would be like no one left to play with except for people that weren't too cheap to splurge a few dollars on a decent game but what fun would those guys be?

The only fair and right thing for the game devs to do is keep working on this game for totally free.

I would buy it. Hopefully at 1.0 there'd be a good few more features, too.

If by then the lag is fixed, I'll buy it. Though, probably not immediately.

That is, assuming that ben doesn't break anything else critically important to gameplay between now and then.

I would buy AoS if I have a means of paying for it online, which I don't.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.
