The downside is that you can snipe people with the SMG from across the map. I get 60fps, so i don't know what's the problem with lag.

AoS needs a free account system (think of Minecraft Classic) to track player stats and give people something to shoot for. If you think about it, an account system can slow down cheaters. Servers can ban entire accounts instead of just an IP address. (IP addresses are easy to change if you have a router.) Players can have their stats and perks (whatever they would be) tied to their account. Having an account system can also stop people from impersonating you and joining a server with your name.
This game is also in dire need of an artist. The only art I've seen is the header on the top of this page. It's trying to copy Minecraft's style, instead of creating it's own. Ben trashed the World War I style in favor of a bright-colored retro-wannabe shooter. The gen maps fell out of popularity because Ben never made any changes or new generators. Gen maps were really beautiful and looked amazing on the map, but it got old for players.
This game is on life support, and the only thing keeping it alive are the Reddit and Minecraft communities. 4chan already left. Most of you found this game from Minecraft's Wikipedia page and Notch's tweets, am I right?
