AoS Report Card

So, there's a youtuber out there called Woody'sGamerTag who makes daily MW3 videos. With every game, since BO, he has made a "CoD___" report card. Here's the MW3 report card, for an idea:

So, what would Ace Of Spade's report card be so far?

Here is my setup:

Game Itself

Teamwork- C

Teamwork is pretty awful in AoS. Even objective based servers have a good 90% of players who are all about k/d/r. It'd be a D had there not been well made matches/clan matches involving teamwork.

Performance- C+

Performance is terrible. I can't actually play this game with the current version. For such a simple, basic game, I'd expect more.

Building- A-

Building makes this game tons of fun! If it weren't implemented, the game would be boring.

Mods/Programs/Customization

Customization- A-

There could be lots more customization. Player skins for opposite teams, different guns on both teams, etc.

Pypades- A

Pyspades is amazing! Though, sadly, it isn't actually implemented in the game. It can get somewhat confusing at times too.

Socially

Community- A

I love the community. Its one of the reasons why I still hang around.

Moderators- A+


These guys are the reason the forums, irc, and wiki are so organized. Each and everyone of them does a great job, and make this game's community what it is.

Overall- B

Game could use some improvements for the future. Hopefully the C's and B's could be A's for 1.0 :)

Teamwork- D

D is for dumbasses. Seriously, I can't find a good server anymore where people play together as a team, everyone is just "hurr gotta get moar killz"

Performance- C

Game used to be fun to play, but now it's laggy as shit. Seriously.

Building- B

Building is fun, too bad nobody does it anymore. Back in the day, people built awesome stuff.

Mods/Programs/Customization

Customization- A-

Customization is cool, most of it winds up being a bit bland at times though.

Pyspades- A

Pyspades is cool, even though a lot of the servers wound up using the same damn plugins.

Socially

Community- F

Speaks for itself.

Moderators- D

See above.

Overall- C-

I miss the old AoS.

At the same time, I agree, I think the old AoS was so good it should be the game we're all playing now. The grades would be much bigger indeed.

Seriously people, I don't understand how you can have such terrible lag. I almost NEVER have terrible lag spikes. I don't know my computer specs, but I'm guessing they are pretty bad, since it's 7 years old.

Well I used to play .70 as a champ, on a 12 year old computer. I now have a nice, 3 year old netbook that can barely play.

I used to be able to play fine too, now the game is choppy as all hell and completely uneven with the odds against me.

As much as I enjoy new features, I think it's important to listen to the community and do some error fixes. Hopefully the next update with be a lot better.

Teamwork, while rare on most servers is still much more common than most games out there.

Performance- F

.75 completely broke the game lag wise.

Building- B+

Practically perfect system, however an A+ is prevented by the in game community. [See below]

Mods/Programs/Customization

Customization- A+

You can't really ask for much more for free. Though, once the game becomes paid you have every right to demand each player's mods appearing on their character and that other visual nonsense you people seem to want.

Pypades- A+

Pyspades has improved the game infinitely.

Socially

Community- F-/B.

Frankly, the community in game is absolute garbage. I've rarely in all my years on the internet seen places that bad! The forum community is better, though it is still tainted slightly by the in game deuce crowd.

Moderators- B+

Overall- D+

I'm sorry, the lag and in game community just devalue the game so much that I cannot go any higher.

Hopefully, Ben'll sort the lag issue out soon and I'll at least be able to bump it up to a C+/B-.

Seriously, you can't even give it a grade. That's how bad it is. No one listens, no one cares.

Performance - D
Laggy as all hell. Poor quality 0.75 update.

Building - C
It wouldn't be AoS without building, but it's hardly done lately.

Its good that basically everything is able to be modded, but

Community - Ingame - F
You wouldn't spit on the people you find ingame, for the most part, if their faces were on fire. The majority are just 7-9 year olds who just annoy the hell out of you. They have no idea what teamwork is. Most can barely even play as is.

Community - Forums - A
The community is fairly friendly, and most know how to have a good time without breaking rules, being too hurtful etc. The community is also fairly close-knit, and very helpful towards each other. There are a few people who some of wish would disappear, but those people are far and few between.

Moderators - A
I find nothing wrong with the moderators and how they go about their business. Most of the warnings they hand out are justified, although sometimes there is a double standard. The only times I have been warned are because I made mistakes that I did not repeat.


Overall - B+ (Yes, I calculated the scores, and the answer is B+)
While in game is pretty bad, there is not much at fault with the forums.

I give this game an overall A+ because its fun to play.

And it is obvious you guys don't know crap about hardware and video cards. Three year old netbooks have about the same graphic cards as a 10 year old PC. They run OpenGL 1.4 or something like that. They would also have low video card memory. You can barely play chess on netbooks, anything 3D forget about it. I have a 3 year old netbook with 2 gigs ram and it has trouble with netflix.
