Spambots -____-

They're becoming a problem. At this point, I've reported more than I can count. Is there anything we can do about this besides continue banning them?

I mean the forum adbots, not the dreaded Lexsym debacle spambots. I call them spambots because they fill our foums with worthless spam.

Why not add "nofollow" to links in post or just add it to the post in The Lounge?
It will not stop the spammers but they will not get traffic
EDIT:I meant that it prevents the search engines take this into account

I've been looking around for anti-spambot tips for phpBB3.
All I found is: update to the latest phpBB version,
http://bbantispam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=378 Textual Confirmation each time while you post/register.
http://startrekguide.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=127&t=9177 Automatic Spammer Detection (IP/e-mail address check etc.)
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=1659315 Timezone Checks and other stuff.
