SOPA will eventually pass, one way or another, in one form or another.

If it is true, then how can the american people stand for such an act? your rights are being taken away by the government you trusted to preserve them.

A government is elected to be the voice of the people, to protect the peoples rights and to defend against injustice and infringements of said rights.

Now, that very government that was elected to preserve YOUR rights, is taking them away from you. In my opinion, and im sure the opinion of many others, the united states government have CEASED to be the voice of the people, it has FAILED to protect your rights as a citizen,

Why did the act not include a public vote? even if said vote wasn't final in the passing/denial of the law?

Now, facebook is planning to sell shares equivalent to the total of 5billion USD. Though analysts expect that number to double.

And i can hardly blame them, they will need every penny that have to fight the SOPA law and prevent itself being closed down.

ALSO,

even if you make a video of your child playing or singing and you have music playing in the background, or video on TV, you are breaking the law, and the government will order the WEBSITES that host your content to censor your content because of their new bill.

They're also extraditing UK citizens for "copyright infringement". Worry not, though, as many American citizens are armed to the teeth with guns to start revolutions with. SOPA as it is now has lost, but another incarnation is highly likely. Hopefully, Supreme Court ends it for being unconstitutional.
