H2O on Mars?

Postby Snipedxx » Fri Sep 28, 2012 11:14 pm

Ok as you might know NASA landed a robot probe sort of vehicle on mars. On its explorance it has found like something that would spark news reports about water on Mars. You think I am joking but if this true then there is possibility of life then aliens. Scientists say that there might be water or some liquid that gives life that creatures can breed and live on. But then there would be food of some sort or they can live without food. What do you think?

You realize that's years old news? The thing is that there is not enough water on Mars for current possible civilization. All life forms, if any would be harmless, tiny prokaryotes. We should be rather putting efforts on establishing something on the moon, which has water and is closer to Earth.

No but NASA has footage of the probe. There actually be water in like 'caves' or underground caverns that a robot cant get into.

We are here because the Universe offers conditions so life can evolve,to the point where(at least one)species,in a small planet around a star lost between millions of galaxies,is able to ask itself:What was my origin? (M. Gleiser)

They have also found fossilized bacteria on Mars so yes. There is/was life on Mars. The only reason there isn't know is because most of Mars' atmosphere is gone.

There are thinking of putting algae to build up a atmosphere somehow in like 20+ years.

Not practical, Mars' gravitational field wouldn't be able to hold the atmosphere and in some 10 or 15 years after the terraforming is done the new atmosphere is gone again.

A bit smaller? Mars is almost half Earth's size lol. I think you messed up Mars and Venus.

Do you mean, the ALH meteoryte, that meteoryte found in Antarctica with some structures similar to nanobacterium? Well, the topic is still quite controversial. I've seen a new about a study a couple of years ago where scientists were able to replicate almost exactly with inorganic materials. I'll do some digging around the internet to see if I can find something.

in the end, all they are really trying to do is find a resource we can use instead of the ones we have now...

They are trying to find fossil fuels to make fuel as well. :)
