Man, the only way you're going to go anywhere with music or truly be able to appreciate it is to look past the labels. The Descendents are just as legitimate as Skrillex and Attack Attack! in the same sense that the Sex Pistols are just as legitimate as Queen or AC/DC. Music is an expression of self, so of course there are going to be different takes on such an artform.

If you dislike the music, that's fine by me, but disliking it because it has a label just isn't cool. That's my spew of the day.

Man, the only way you're going to go anywhere with music or truly be able to appreciate it is to look past the labels. The Descendents are just as legitimate as Skrillex and Attack Attack! in the same sense that the Sex Pistols are just as legitimate as Queen or AC/DC. I don't dislike it because it has a label, I dislike it because it sounds horrible. And if you are really saying the Descendents are as legitimate as Skrillex and Attack Attack, then I don't think you know much about the Descendents. There is a difference between a highly influential punk band that released one of the best punk records ever like 30 years ago, and a band that puts their image before the music itself like Attack Attack. They do nothing original at all and follow trends because they know it will get them signed (which it did) and will ensure a lot of record sales.

I don't care if you like them or not, I just think their music is complete bullshit.
