I dont blame it solely on games. There are other factors, some of which you just mentioned. You must admit though, games cause problems. Eye problems, hand and finger problems, mental problems.

yeah, it is pretty much the parents' fault for being irresponsible enough for this to happen, I would say, but it is still a bummer. this guy is going to have a pretty weird life, I do not even know how things would be.

So what you're saying is that having glasses or carpal tunnel contributes to killing people?

No, what i'm saying is that games cause problems. I was off topic.

The parents would probably be at fault, but something must have been wrong with the kid mentally. But yeah, what parent offers a gaming console to a four year old? I got my first Playstation when i was ten. Xbox 360 a couple of years ago, whe i was 12. Before that, I did something that fewer and fewer people are doing these days. I read books

How did this turn into a thread about a 4 year old killing his father to a thread about you?

Also, when you are young, you don't understand anything about death or murder or etc.

*sigh*
I could argue this further, but I couldn't care less where this discussion goes. What the kid did was bad, but his parents may have inadvertently encouraged it. I was making a comparison, by the way. Young kids should not be introduced to the killing that most of the games these days encompass. I was talking about how myself, and most of the people I know got that kind of thing when we were old enough to understand and appreciate the dangers.

Also, don't patronise me.

Dad was a nub anyway. Didn't even have Second Chance activated.

Now that's taking a joke too far.

On topic: How can you say the parents are at fault? This is the middle east we're talking about. The newspapers, the TV, and the internet are all talking about war. This kid probably picked up how too shoot a gun from one of his little toddler friends. His parents can't cut him off from war without isolating himself from the rest of the world, an act which would probably lead to his suicide due to mental depression. Plus, how do we even know the kid had any idea that killing was bad. Games like GTA teach you the concept of successful murder. Real life teaches you the consequences of real death, the good and the bad.
Plus, in an area like the middle East, it might actually be ideal to buy your kid a video game console to keep their minds off of the cruel, cruel reality at hand.

Well, if his daddy didn't give him M-rated games, this wouldn't have happened.

if kids were taught not to be materialistic self-obsessed little shits, this wouldn't have happened. It's not just major shit like this involving younger children, but I see it around my friends too. Yesterday my friend was complaining to me his mom wouldn't buy him the new iPhone 4S and he had to stick with his, and I quote, "shitty" iPhone 4. Ugh.

I know wha you mean. People don't know what they have. I see people giving away phones an iPods because they get new ones. I hear them bad mount hong their parents because they don't get what they want. A sad state of affairs.

It's Saudi Arabia, not Iraq or Afghanistan. It's not at war, at least, not anymore. Afaik the gulf war was the last time Saudi was turned into a war zone.
