deuce's please, you're going to crack skulls or severe heads with your bare hands? First off, what kind of zombies are you dealing with? Lightning fast infected or classic slow zombies? What is your weapon of choise? Are you 100% sure you could get your hands on one during the real deal? You also need to think about nutrition, what will you eat/drink? Could you deal with injuries like a broken leg? Bullet wound? An infection? Fever? There would be numerous other threats, not just zombies.

Anyway, i'll go with the classic zombie, much more feel to it. For a weapon, i'd use my aluminum baseball bat. As seen on ZGB, it breaks a skull fairly easily and is light and durable. Clothing would include my leather jacket, leather pants, leather gloves and a motorcycle-helmet. For carrying equipment i'd just use couple of my backbags, they're pretty small but since i don't have anything better.. Equipment includes 10-litres of water, (cooking)pot, tobacko, booze, a 10 litre gas-canister, couple of zippo's, first aid-kit, knives, hatchet, matches, spare clothes, and as much food as i can carry after all that.

Actually, chainsaw is a shitty weapon. It's big, noisy, heavy and clumsy, and it requires gasoline to run. The noise would attract more zombies, it would be hard to swing around in a tight place like a basement and you would propably be infected by blood spraying all over your face, or atleast blinded. Swinging the chainsaw around blind and the floor being all slippery with blood and guts, you'd slip and accidentally chainsaw yourself to death - If you're lucky.
