[SVM] Reference Model

Postby Stiivais » Sat Jun 02, 2012 6:30 pm

Reference Model
This is just a little something to help modders of this game make guns of proper scale and alignment.
In this package, there is a model which is perfectly aligned to be in the center, between player's arms
and has markings where both hands rest, where weapon's stock should be and there also are indications of height.
Of course, this thing comes with screenshots for offline reference.

Good job wasting your time, you do know that you can adjust the pivots, thus making the reference model useless...

Dunno, I always start from default model (though recently just from few blocks that left from it) and i never had problems. But I guess this is kinda helpful.
Also moved.

This is for those who prefer doing it the way simox does, building on top of a model.

Pretty neat, though I recommend you color code the areas a bit.

I could have just re-aligned the joints if I wanted the gun to be centered...
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

But what about scale?
Do you instantly know where the shoulders and arms are (the distance between them) when making a new gun?
How do you know, how long should the gun be?

Adjust Pivots.

Period.

We are here because the Universe offers conditions so life can evolve,to the point where(at least one)species,in a small planet around a star lost between millions of galaxies,is able to ask itself:What was my origin? (M. Gleiser)

I love this, it's a great way to show the restrictions. Can you do this for all the other player files(head, arms, legs, body, etc.)?

They're impossible to change. The kv6's must be as large as the hitboxes.
