My scope?

I know it's probably not the best in the world, but here's the scope I made. Please let me know what you think.

All stuff around the scope is unusable and unneeded and in some cases pretty silly. Also the stuff inside the scope could be non-hand drawn. It's just... most ppl won't like it.

ah, lol. I never really made scopes before, so I usually made the stuff to feel more authenticated, with like windchill, and direction, and all that.

Edit: I made changes to it. It better now?

Little bit. Though it still requires some correction.

I'd look at some other people's work first and try to get a feel of what works and what doesn't. You're on the right track, you just gotta figure out what you're going for.

If you're trying to have some nice display elements in the scope, try not to make them the primary focus, it's just for looks in the end anyway. Make something functional first, then make it pretty.

Check out how I handled my HUD elements for example, namely how they evolved. I opened the visor up so everything could be visible and lessened the inside graphics just enough so they wouldn't obstruct the player's view. The glowing edges look neat, but also serve a purpose and provide contrast in dark areas.

This is just my style. Again, I encourage you to look around, use other people's scopes and see what feels good to you, then use that as a building block.

Try to keep the aesthetics subtle and focus on making a functional scope as your first step. You're on your way, just keep at it!

All right, thanks a bunch for the tips! I realize that the main purpose for the scope isn't really for looks, so I tried multiple different approaches to make the scope pin point accurate, too. And I got a ton of head shots, but I agree that I should also try getting some ideas from other people's work. Most of what I see are simple scopes built mainly for the sake of accuracy, the main thing I'm aiming for is a combination of that, and something that looks a little bit fancy. I'm going to see other's works, too, of course, and hopefully, I can make something really good, and unique. Thanks again! :)
