Well, it's kinda bland IMHO, lacking shading because it looks too bright. Maybe darken the gunmetal. If you're trying to get it to look like a hybrid between the base guns then I think you should thin the pistol grip to 1 voxel wide.

Harsh part: It looks like a downgrade from the regular rifle.

Feedback: Good for the first mod, You're just getting used the controls and stuff, The colors and a little bit ugly. But yeah keep making mods and you'll get better:)
