How do you make a MOD WORK?

For me a newbie at this game and maybe some other people, can someone please state as to how, we make these mods work, and how to use them? Thank you so much.

Rename the mod you downloaded to whatever you want it to be (e.g, if you want it to be the Semi-auto rifle, rename it to semi.kv6, if SMG, rename to smg.kv6, etc)
Then go to where you saved Ace of Spade (usually in the C:), then go to the kv6 folder, and replace the file that is there with your mod. So you replace the semi.kv6 of the kv6 folder with your semi.kv6 mod.

Just remember to back up the originals if you want them back. What I do is rename the originals and keep them in the same folder. Example: semi.kv6 would be renamed semi-old.kv6

Oh, yeah, just a quick note: If it is a sight or a sound, you need to go to the corresponding folder. So if it is a sight(x.png) it needs to be replaced in the png folder, if it is a sound(x.wav), it goes in the wav folder.
