[Arena] Six Houses!

Postby DiscipLe » Sun Sep 30, 2012 4:57 pm

Small project I did, didn't take too long.

Six houses, rotationally symmetric for some interesting gameplay.

Download (includes both .vxl and .txt file in a zip):

Enjoy :D

Edit: Updated the map file, no longer possible to glitch.

i like it
barely one round lasts longer than 1 minute here as campers don't really have a chance to hide for long.

looks good but needs a large moat around the outer wall so glitchers can't get out

Thank you! I was debating whether or not to put as many windows as I did, but I liked the idea of campers not being able to hide.

I was thinking about this, which is why i put the 2 block thick fence. Does that not do enough? I'll revise the map slightly for this if so.

or maybe you could use the same kind of script that stops people from getting out of the arena-mode spawn? the teleporting one, like they use in aloha.pk so anyone who glitched out of the fence gets teleported back

I think the best way to go about it is to create boundary damage. I'll look into it.

boundary damage isn't good enough because it has to be straight and your walls are curvy. you need a moat.

and no, 2 blocks thick isn't nearly enough. even 8 blocks isn't enough. use water.

What i've done is made a moat around it colored as the land. I made it rather squareish so that i can apply boundary damage to the edges. The water is against the walls, even the uneven points. This way, if you're outside of the map, you're either falling into water or in the boundary zone.

I'll update the download file much later today.

boundary damage isn't needed if the moat is wide enough to not jump across because the water damage will kill them

@Izzy, can you put this into the map rotation for arena?

Looks cool. But yeah like izzy already said, create a version with water around.
