Not your normal release, these are procedurally generated!
(eg. like classicgen or random.txt)

Been working on this then got bored because couldn't get people to host it...

You can go play Greece and Pyspades+ on "SEXY SERVER FOR SEXY PEOPLE" at aos://1436491696:32887 if you use 0.75 or "DANY0s for sexy people" at aos://1436491696:33887 for 0.76 folks. (edit: the staging master server looked down, so I turned the 0.76 server off)

Then just add water, eh, I mean add the maps to the rotation.

Greece Mediterranean islands area - like landscape with wineries, ports, pre-generated bunkers, trees, bushes, ports, buoys and a big spawn mountain on one side ( also a logo on the bottom left part of the map)

Description:
Attempt at reconstruction of the feel and improvment the map "pyspades". Islands range from medium to large with islands guaranteed to be in the spawn area and the middle.

Description:
The gen map with ugly trees. If you wish to make better trees, use the shipped qbuild plugin to record some in-game. (use /qbrecord colored or /qbcopy colored)

Thanks to Triplefox on advice on the MapMaker API, infogulch for making avx loading script and TheGrandmaster for advice on the Pyspades+ map.

Great work danny!

My biggest complaint about FPS games is the repetitive maps you are stuck with. Random maps are the only solution.

Yous look very nice.

Is there any way to play with the waters mix mask? It seems to have the bottom level of land pixels mixed into the water. On Ken Silvermand Page the terrain generator had the same bug in it.

At a distance it looks almost like a water reflection, but up close it looks like someone spilled some paint.

Anyway, I really like the cool structures and trees you added to the mix. It really will give the maps a distinct look, and some nice play-ability.

+1 for some nice work :)

Did you mean this phenomenon? http://j.mp/R7QEu9 Well, I have an idea how to fix this, but I got bored of greece, I'm waiting for FaultCheck to start working on the procedural map generator editor, would like to implement shadows first.

I know right, procedural generation is obviously the future, in fact as you can see it's already here, just not evenly distributed.

Yeah, and regular folks like it too, much better then classicgen. But there's still a lot to play around with!

  • took care of the bug that didn't give greens a spawn mountain sometimes
  • also added a forced middle island
  • changed the terrain a lil' too
  • and tree spawning algorithm

*little changes to the gameplay, apart from the spawn mountain for greens and a forced middle island

I was playing with your map gens now for some time... and after a time that much water got really annoying... maybe you should make them creating more land.
