On June 6 1944, at 0048 the first paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division began to leap from their aircraft into German Occupied Normandy to secure areas crucial to the success of Operation Overlord. This map is set in Normandy France and is unique in the aspect that when configured properly, the "US Airborne" team spawns from the doors of multiple C-47 Aircraft and fall to the map below.
The map features a small French village on a hill surrounded by farms and some wooded areas. At the peak of the hill lies a Norman style church, although I would have like to have made it the church from Saint Mere-Eglise, the town which soldiers from the 101st and 82nd captured by 0600, it would been too similar to Infux's existing map Normandie. For this reason the church is just a generic Norman style church. Scattered across the German side of the map are Flak 88 AA gun emplacements, some 105mm artillery (that are aimed towards the beaches where the invasion will take place), and even some Panzer tanks and half tracks. The map also features a railway line and station and the buildings in the village are fantastic for occupying as they provide a great vantage point from which to rain down both automatic and sniper fire. The wooded areas are also useful for flanking the enemy as the trees provide excellent cover.
