Looks like a graphics card issue.

While I don't actually think this is going to help you can specify different graphics modes for voxed via the command line:

From the voxedhlp.txt file:

Voxlap5 supports all 32-bit color modes where xdim<=640 and ydim<=480.
Default is 320*200 fullscreen mode. If the mode isn't found, then the DOS
version defaults to true-color emulation mode (320x400 8 bit color which
should work on all VGA compatible video cards). The windows version has no
emulation mode and just exits with an error message.

Some examples:
>voxed /640x480
Use hi-res VESA mode (640x480x32) To specify resolution, you must have
a lowercase 'x' separating the x- and y- dimensions and there can't be
any spaces in between.
>voxed /480x360 /win
Set resolution to 480x360 and use windowed mode instead of fullscreen.

Well I actually had this problem with my inttergrated card, then I upgraded and plugged in a geforce 8400 gs. And had the same problem with that.

I've tried switching to fullscreen, running in win xp compatibility, I don't really know.

Under your display properties check to see you're in 32-bit color mode and not 24-bit. I can't really imagine that would be the case because I haven't really had to think about such things in quite a few years now but I am running out of ideas. My card is an geforce go 7600 with 512 MB of dedicated memory... and I've never had a problem like yours.

Have you tried restarting Voxed?
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.
