New mapping tools for Blender

Postby jojoestinky » Sat Aug 25, 2012 12:48 pm

Hi all,

Just a screenshot of what is to come from the JoJoe terrain editor 2.0:
Image

As you can see caves and arches are now going to be possible.
Blenders dynamic topology sculpting tools are enabled!
Automatic UV mapping is now scaling things consistently.

Coming soon:
Baking the AO correctly on all objects regardless of their global scale.
Very limited Auto-UV mapping.
Automatic tile naming to make the export painless.
Vertex colors will convert over and bake along with the textures.
Choice of Vertex color AO for slower computers, and for quick preview renders.

Well, basically i just need to make it foolproof now, so Blender noobies can have a fun experience.

Wow amazing. Though maybe could you include a tutorial how to change water/land textures?

I have an idea for a map, that can be done only with your tool.
Please release it as fast as you can, ok?
