Sound Crashing

I can't believe there's no topic for this with how often it happens.

I'm playing the game and there's a random lag spike. After the lag spike, there is absolutely no sound at all.
And not just in AoS either. My computer itself doesn't have sound anymore, until I restart it.


So, I'm posting this topic in the hopes of one question being answered. And that question is:

What the hell?

That's really weird, I've never experienced this before eaither. Care to post your system specs?

I'm guessing it's a problem with your computer.
does the sound icon disappear from the system tray?
check in task manager, services tab- is the windows audio service running?
check the event manager and look for an error that happened right around when the sound broke.

I remember experiencing this problem a few years back with a different game on a different computer (windows XP), turned out to be a software/OS issue. I was less of a techie then so it took me a while to find the cause. even longer for a solution (that I forgot what it was)

I'm having this same issue except its with any server I go onto. After logging into a server there is no sound, I Quit the game, close the browser etc and my computer has no sound for anything until I reboot. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling but didn't help.

In answer to the last question in here, yes there is still a speaker icon in the system tray

Try go to config.ini and check the sound value has in 1 or more.
