team killing but friendly fire is off issue?

Somehow I often get targeted by a team killer, and FF is off but they somehow keep killing me. its getting really annoying and I wish I can team kill them back but since FF is off, I can't do it. I think it's a bug, or it could be a hack. it happens on most of the servers particularly with the aloha servers. Can someone look into this?

People can kill you for a few seconds after you destroy a block on your team's side. It's a feature that lets people kill griefers.
