Some questions, will it spawn in a specific place on the map, or just random?
Also, can it carry people to locations, or is it just for recon?
Does it have a weapon and can it be shot down?

Looking great so far, although with the current fog distance and lenght of the maps I doubt it would be an enjoyable experience to ride a helicopter.

that looks awesome. I have heard somewhere that the fog might be extended in the opengl client, or something like that. I also hope the camera is zoomed in a bit, it looks kind of weird to be that far away from the screen. but it is nice, keep up the good work

I hate vehicles in shooting games unless it's purely for transportation. Tanks, helicopters, and jets always dominate those games. It's a major nerf to snipers too.

It also seems like mat^2 extended the time destroyed blocks last. Nice change from the last one.

As for the helicopters, hopefully it's just for transport and recon. Considering it's original model is mainly used for transport, too. Maybe you could have some buddies hang from the helicopter and shoot at enemies.

However, a feature must be considered of a helicopter being able to hold like 3 players, with 1 being the pilot and the other 2 shooting deuce out the windows. (is "deuce" the plural of "deuce", or is it deuces?) To do so, chopper.kv6 must have an interior, able to hold 2 people to walk around and shoot out the windows, and the pilot in the cockpit ofcourse.
And how about the heli can "mark" enemy players on the minimap by adding a crosshair on the pilots screen, and the pilot must click on the player to tag him (for like 30 seconds) or simply everyone in the vield of vision is on the minimap. That way it accomplishes it's recon role perfectly.

And we are talking about aerial vehicles here, so all personnel occupying a helicopter must have parachutes with them. It would look just like Paratroopers avatar. You can probably only get them in the helicopter, as carrying parachutes in ground combat situations is just plain stupid. Parachutes can be activated by pressing Space mid-air.

Also, medical/resupply crates should have parachutes attached to them too, because in this state the contents may break or be destroyed as it falls down really hard. Parachutes would slow the descent of the crate down, and people would look up and wait until it comes down (I can imagine being headshotted while doing so), I suggest giving it 3 uses, as people would rush the crates to get it first.

This is great, however I'm a little curious.

Will this be set speed for the final heli? It seems a little fast for current map size.

Are ammo/health kits really enough for 1 person? I was hoping they would be much more permanent, and would act sort of like objectives for teams to fight over

Can the helicopter carry more people?

When flying in the helicopter, will your body stay on the ground like in the video, and you must land back where you started?


I am however happy with the extended block breaking animation.

Noooo, not health-crates. I can already see deuces with 99-hp getting all of the packs, when there's dudes around with 10-hp. Bad idea, unless there's also "portable" medkits that players can use on themselves and team-mates.

Maybe you dont actually get healed by it, you get a small medkit you can deploy/use pressing 5 and left-clicking.
Also, I would like it better if it had 3 or 5 uses, not single-use.
