STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE NEW ACCURACY!

Postby Articsledder » Sat Mar 17, 2012 11:51 pm

I'm absolutely sick of it. Seriously. You people need to stop and think before you make demands. Let's think for a minute.

Rifle:

Recently, an algorithm was added to the rifle to keep it from being a 1 hit instant kill 100% of time. Now at long ranges bullets will occasionally miss. What does this mean? It means the rifle is no longer fully accurate at long ranges. Like a real rifle. "But a real M14 can fire 460 meters!". Just because it can fire that far, doesn't mean it accurate 100% of the time. Anyone who has fired a real gun would tell you that it is hard to keep a gun steady enough to kill someone at that range in 1 shot.

Benefits of update: Firefights will now last longer then 1 second in some cases, and be more exciting. Also, it at least gives people a chance on occasion to fight back. Spawn camping the waves is difficult, and a sniper has got to have a good spot to hide if they want to stay hidden.

SMG:
Not as many complaints, but some say it is OP now. It's still a good weapon, anyone who knows how to use the rifle can take an SM'er out quickly.

Benefits of update: Can't take down forts quickly now, highly audible with "pew pew", can now take on rifle.

Shotgun:
Ok, you people begged and begged for this last update. Everyone thought the range was too long. Well, I hate to break it to you people the the shotgun's purpose was short range all along. Yes, a military shotgun could reach fog range, but that would unbalance the game because of how easy it is to aim with it. The shotgun is good for tunnelers, close range urban maps, and forests. It is not meant for out in the open, so don't use it there.

To the complainers: Get used to the new weapons. After an hour of playing today, I'm just as good as before the update.

To Ben: Please, don't go changing the algorithm already. Countless people such as myself don't complain about the weapons because we feel they are alright. You have got to be a little stubborn against the community sometimes.

I think a lot of people are probably confusing accuracy with the increased lagg/connection issues/rubberbanding since the update.

I agree, especially about the shotgun. If shotguns in real life were transfered to video games, they would be way too overpowered. They can shoot maybe 5 times the distance portrayed in games, and are capable of killing everyone in a room with one shot.

Elaborate. Though I probably know what you mean, but I don't really have an issue with it.

Then don't use it unless its in a close range map.

No he probably means it is literally close to useless at CLOSE range, and I've tried this myself, I see a definite change from .70 to .75, and it seems it has utterly made it quite useless. I shot a guy at 3ft range twice, on torso and he did not die.

The accuracy is so random youre often unable to kill people at close range with it. It sucks even at close range at times.

I wish I had the "Combat Shotgun-Style" spread again, though.

To balance, increase the shotgun's fire rate? Real-life pump-actions can turn could shoot very fast when given to a trained soldier.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

What the heck are you talking about? Every time I was confronted by a shotgunner within 30 blocks I was dead in 1 shot.

I wish people wouldn't complain about a free game...but enough of my fantasies.

Everything , in the new update is fine to me. I don't have a reason to rage. I've honestly not noticed the weapon changes, everything seems usual. Maybe I just haven't been playing enough though. But if a weapon is changed, it's is why we're in beta, to test things. Expect changes.

Ive been right infront of people and missing shots (before you ask, the reticule was right on the person), on the flip side, people can still shotgun snipe if theyre lucky. quite simply I could go for more uniformity, such as idk, being confident I can one hit people right fucking in front of me instead of wondering if ill be lucky enough to actually hit them.

I haven't seen any details of the algorithm posted. Is this from ben or who? The changelog didn't really explain much.

Anyway, who cares about realism. This is a game. One is allowed to have preferences that are based on enjoyment of gameplay or whatever. If I liked the way the rifle worked more in .70 than in .75, that's a valid argument that appeals to the way rifles work in reality don't answer.

I don't think the change is really that big, now that I've played more, but there is a noticeable difference. Most likely a little practice will be all one needs to adapt. But maybe not. I dunno.

You can't adapt to luck.

But really, I don't mind the new updates.

I had no idea the rifle accuracy was dropped!

IT MUST BE RESTORED!

Having your success with the rifle be 100% based on your skill as a player is the CORE of sniping in this game!
