Did you install it on the W8? The registry should be updated then. If not look at the registry entries in your W7 system and copy them over, that should do the trick I think.

You can launch it manually, for example in command line with "client.exe aos://12345678".
Or use one of the many launcher programs, not sure if they all use registry (mine for example uses a path, since I made it for portable use).

Yes, I do. Windows 8 Consumer Preview edition, 32bit.
Also, the commandline is working, through. I will try to find more stuff about W8 and client.exe
//registry is still there, web command aos:// not executes. *tested on IE10 + Chrome*

Was having this trouble also on Windows 8, game wouldn't launch from the aos:// links in browsers.

Copying over the registry key from windows 7 install into the 8 registry half worked. Server links now work in IE but not Chrome. (For those who wish to know, the key to export from windows 7 is under: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/aos)

Not restarted computer yet mind so maybe that'll help with Chrome (dear whatevercreator may exist I hope that fixes Chrome).

I would also post the entire text from the key here but I'm not sure how moderators would look to that one.. first post and all.. :P

Here's a quick fix:
Use Windows+R (open Run dialog), paste the aos:// link.
it works!

I'm getting the same, game is playable but there is certainly lag in general (computer wise not the dreaded network lag :P) compared to same machine with windows 7.

I still love my XP...
But that goddamn Service Pack 3 is not compatible with my rig...Damnit!

Also, I heard that after Windows some new family of systems comes...I can't remember what it will be called like, though.

You found my secret signature line, damnit! Alright, Polaks are bad, I admit. But it's not their fault.
