Things the community as a whole need to stop doing.

For all things AoS!

Things the community as a whole need to stop doing.

Postby Gorman » Thu Feb 16, 2012 2:13 pm

  1. Accusing people of being a hacker just because they killed you.
  2. Assuming you are the best player in the world and so anyone better than you in any way is a hacker.
  3. Suggesting features just because another game has it - we don't an auction house just because WoW has it, WE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO SELL
  4. Rejecting features just because a game you dislike has it, yes, I'm talking to you people who say "this is from CoD so no".
  5. Aggressively asserting that you created a certain feature "OMG I THOUGHT OF TRAPS NOT U", yeah... I am fairly sure that you didn't invent traps...
  6. Thinking that slowing things down automatically make a game tactical - and assuming that all suggestions can be improved by slowing them down; "Vehicles would suck unless they are really slow, that would be really tactical then"
  7. Assuming that being the OP of a suggestion thread means that it is your idea VS everyone else - I doubt you thought of everything, and I odds are someone will think of something better.
  8. Giving an opinion about something that you don't know about. I do not want to hear "This sounds really easy to program to me, even though I don't know anything about that" on a suggestion about implementing a massive campaign with numerous AIs and other complex elements!
  9. Thinking that the aim of AoS is to be as realistic as possible. The only exception to this is, as everyone knows and can see ingame, AoS is set between WW2 and Vietnam war, and it is fought by children (which is why our heads are so big).

Feel free to add anything else.

Slower paced game does make the game more tactical, as you have to think carefully about your choices. Since there is no punishment in going up a mountain whatsoever, it's not a collider, not any kind of stop, it's there just for eyecandy.

Really.. some things just ARE bad for the game. Developer just decides if he wants to accept it or not.

I like both fast paced and slow paced gameplay. It depends on my mood.

Why do we have to choose one or the other? Why not have both?

Joining servers that are clearly marked as being hosted on the opposite side of the globe with high ping and lagging everyone else on the server up...

Well you do move up it slower than you would on foot, and it does offer a certain kind of cover because of its uneven footing it is harder for an enemy to predict your movment, plus all the different aspects of the possibilities for building (have you ever tried to hollow out flat ground? No where near as effective as hollowing out mountains).

Besides that, my point was more geared towards people that assume that making anything slower is better.

How about building pixel art outside of build servers? I can understand admins of a server building things such as a giant toilet or various other novelties to keep from esc y'ing between checking out the inevitable and usually false "Hacker!!!"/"GRIFFER!!" calls. But what goddamn point is there to a 1 block high rainbow, backwards swastika, penis, or [insert nation here, usually poland]'s flag? FFS people, there are build servers and there's minecraft! Hell you can host your own private little server if you wanna build pointless crap! Quit wasting time building shit that's never gonna help your team!!

Tai I really don't understand you quoted one of my posts from a different thread, they are completely irrelevant to each other
