@ ammo suggestions: Play on a pyspades server, I think every player is capable of getting 6 or 10 kills before they run out of ammo lol.

Shotgun spread should not be increased, it's perfectly realistic. Shotguns in real life don't have that big of a spread.
Currently the main purpose of SMG is anti-material. Most people can't land 2 (3 according to wiki??) headshots before the rifleman lands 1. Should we remove shovel because it is used to grief?
I was going for balance rather than realism... Not going to start a fight about realism vs gameplay, but seeing as the terrain is made of cubes I think it should be obvious as to which one has priority...
Besides this thread is about balance right? So realism discussions are pointless and unfitting.
