A way to prevent aimbotting

For all things AoS!

A way to prevent aimbotting

Postby XFrostByteX » Wed Aug 08, 2012 3:39 am

Similar to the kick if you're speed hacking.

Basically, if the server detects you make a headshot, turn 80 degrees, and make another, and repeat within 2-3 seconds, you get kicked.

Would require tweaking (I have made a headshot, turn 180 and make another out of pure luck. Don't wanna get kicked for that). But this would help chop down on aimbotting.

It could work, but it has been tried before and has had many, many problems.

IF turned that much INSTANTLY, it would work. It would kick a few aimbotters, but of course, only temporary.

There is also such a thing as lagging. If someone had I don't know, 400 ms and shot someone in the head infront of them, then turned around to run back and saw someone behind him and shot that person before the server could load the persons position/direction. KICK.

I agree, there are some players who act normal and just bluff it off but in reality, they are letting some players kill them on purpose to bluff it off.

I think there's more users who don't use it discretely.

Many imbots now also use a chest shot option I have noticed but still have that unreal movement. I think they should detect the players accuracy movement and dmg.

Yeah they do have a body feature. This is annoying as you just can't they are hacking if they are killing with Rifle, SMG Shotgun etc instead of headshot. Stupid aimbotters. But yeh you need a way to make it fool prove and not have the innocent into trouble.

At least it would get rid of those who are blatantly abusing the aimbot and ruining the game.

I agree the threshold to trigger a kick shouldn't be set too restrictive to avoid false positives and kicking innocent/lucky people. It's not foolproof but even if it catches only 20% it's already an improvement to the game.

I would imagine the algorythm would have some kind of aimbot-o-meter: If a player executes an action defined as suspicious his meter rises, and he only gets kicked after he hits a threshold. The meter would also decrease with time to avoid kicking people who play very long sessions.
