Hey, everyone!
Just got back from a riveting game on the Aloha Babel server.
...where we had a rather terrible experience with an a player who was sniping our entire team down in about one second at a time while he did so little as just approach us from the front. So, as one thing lead to another, we tried to kick the guy.
But a votekick wouldn't start.
Instead, we got a message, "Invalid parameters," and no votekick would begin.
The guy's name displayed in gibberish, and would say one thing on the scoreboard, and another in the...in-game chat-display-thing in the bottom-left of the screen and the kill stream thing in the top-left of the screen.
So my question is...Is the Ace of Spades client* unable to recognize foreign characters, let alone allow votekicks against players with foreign characters in their username?
(*that's the right word for the game program itself, right?)
For reference, here's what the guy's name displayed as. He's the one with the gibberish name in the kill stream in the top-left and also the top-scoring player on green: http://i.imgur.com/URPTt.png
...Weird thing was, a short while afterwards, someone logged in with Korean text in their username, and it displayed correctly (at least for me, it did). Then the guy promptly began displaying the same suspicious-omnipotent-mobile-sniping that the first guy did. Same situation occurred when we tried kicking that new guy, too.
