For all things AoS!

Goonhaven attracts all kinds of people. Also, what would happen to the current forums if this was introduced? I'm sorry if I missed some basic note that someone made, but sometimes I cant be bothered deducing things.

This is turning in to Battlespades 3, which IMO is much better than, Call of Spades: Modern Ace 3
What I'm most hyped about

You're doing it wrong.
-----------------------------------------------------------Impersonation------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, impersonation has always been a problem, so we need some sort of report button on the website for people who impersonate us. Admins go to our profile, see the "Former Name" section, and Admins force them to change their name or face a ban of 2 days from the game.

----------------------------------------------------------Changing names--------------------------------------------------------------
Implement some sort of point system to change your name. Say you start out with 200 Spade Points. You need 2000 to change your name. Each post on some other persons thread is 40 points, and each reply after that is 25, while each new post you make will be worth 100 points. It will direct traffic to the site and also force people to come out in front of the public eye and stop being so socially awkward. Also, if you post more than three of your own posts within one hour, you stop earning points for the hour. If you spam more than 8 replies in one thread, you stop earning points for two hours. Basically, the Threads/Replies you make will generate enough points to change your name. And this doesn't change the Display Name on the forums.

-----------------------------------------------------------------Misc------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, we need some sort of store. Like a Merch section where you can buy signature designs, a profile design, and stuff like that which you will be able to buy with your Spade Points. (Just an Idea, not really needed)

The games in BETA, how many times do we need to stress that!. For a start none who hacks or griefs ever uses the forums, so there is no point there, i have seen no impersonation in the 2 months iv been playing this game and using the forums. and even if your account does get banned, whats stopping you from making a new account. Just dont add a registration system, alls it will do is stop people from trying the game for the first time.

1.) What does the fact it is in beta have to do with anything?
2.) If we have a registration system it will force the hackers and griefers to use the forum
3.) Impersonation is out there. I have seen some people impersonated. Its kind of rare though
4.) IP banning stops you from making a new account. It bans your computers internet protocol address which is unchangeable unless you switch to another ISP or move into another house, pretty drastic measures to evade a ban.
5.) I think a guest system should be added to get people to try. Basically you can log in as a guest, which allows you to play the game with a name like Guest00001 or Deuce00001

1. Beta means its not released yet, of course you know that...
2. Just because they can use the forums i doubt 99.9 percent of them wont, i can assure you of that.
3. So what if they do impersonate, its so rare as you said yourself.
4. I know about IPs and shit, and if someone can hack a game, they can change there IP just as easy.
5. At the moment it is exactly the same. but you can have a proper user name as well.

Couple things;

Impersonation hardly seems to be a problem at all. I think I've seen ONE guy impersonating
another the entire time I've been playing and if it were a major problem there'd be a lot more mikuli's and tGMs running around on every server.

Your "Spade points" idea is extremely short sighted, you'll realize why when there's several dozen posts in every thread that are no more than three words long, just so people can hoard the points or when there's a "SPAM 4 SPADEPOINT HERE" thread in the majority of sections and just what point would "Buying" signatures or profile designs serve?

>Three of your own posts an hour
I'm assuming you meant threads and got confused, since most people can post a fairly well written reply to well over a dozen threads in about half that time.

No, No, No, and No.

>EDIT<
@Hobo and that other person arguing IPs; It takes less than a minute to change your IP unless you're connecting with a static IP [Which you have to specially request from your ISP I'm fairly certain] and then it's just however long it takes you to start up an unbanned proxy.

You still did not answered why do it being in beta means anything.
Impersonation is really out there, and even if it is rare, what about it? Yesterday I think someone was trying to impersonate tGM on Shams Little Pony(if that was the real tGM, then it is cool). If we can cut it out, why not?

Because to stop a handful of twits you'll be alienating new players and anyone who changes names legitimately.

It's like cutting your arm off to fix a paper cut on your finger.

1.) I know what a beta is. I fail to see what that has to do with anything
2.) Ok. But its still good to try. Maybe the .01 percent will change their ways and stop hacking
3.) True. But impersonating even if it is rare, can be bad. Someone impersonated an admin on a server and couldn't get banned because he had the same name as an admin
4.) Its extremely hard to change your IP, and most hackers are to lazy to
5.) Yes it is

@ 3; You're either lying or the person had access to a trusted login pass at which point it'd become entirely the server host's fault for giving trusted passes to undesirables. Admins can be votekicked if they don't have the trusted pass, I've seen it happen before. Pyspades and especially vanilla don't feature an automatic protection for names, probably for that very reason.

@4; No it is not and no they are not. It takes less than a minute to change your IP unless you've a static address which you usually have to specially request from your ISP. The majority of "hackers" [Aimbotters or scriptkiddies would be a more accurate term.] use aimbot[s] to troll and have been using computers for more than ten minutes, so, ya'know, they know certain things... Like how easy it can be to change your IP... The few bottom of the age scale aimbotters that don't follow the above have generally gotten banned out of existence by now.

Just to awnser all your questions about why the fact it is in beta has to do with it. Alpha is where the makers of the game test the game for bugs, BETA is where people who had nothing to do with the creation of the game TEST the game for bugs, now the special word there is TEST. the game is not officially out yet. so the reason ben is letting us play the game is to test and put suggestions to make the game better. so until the game comes out a registration system is only needed for people who use forums. and changing your ip is as easy as ever. so adding a registration system wont do anything to get rid of hackers. Please no registration system, it will do nothing. Put the effort into something better please.
