The rifle will be missed as a 10 round gun, the fire rate could be a step forward or back depending on your views.

Step backward. Way backward.

I can't remember the change log of 0.76. Is that in there? Also, wasn't bullet damage reduced at farther ranges in 0.76, or am I being stupid?

I feel like this game needs a high-fire rate machinegun that would lay out lots of damage BUT would need to be deployed on the ground for stable fire, like the german MG-42 i just feel like this could be a great weapon to dish out lots of fire on the enemy from a machine gun nest and bunkers, trenches (ETC).

It shouldnt be too unbalancing since it would have to be deployed before you fire (Or try firing with lots of recoil on foot).

ALSO you guys seem to be complaining that 64 players would lag... Mount and blade: warband can run up to 200 players and lag doesnt seem to be a problem there xD

AND FOR GOD SAKE! ADD A DAMN ANTI HACK!

We're getting an HMG for 1.0 :)

Id say its a step forward, now that ben has the balls to nerf it we can finally stop snickering when someone says "weapon balance". It isnt perfect but its definitally a step in the right direction.

thegreatninjaman wrote:why not add bullet drop to the rifle? so at a certain range it requires more skill to aim.

Because bullet drop only affects it at long range, which wont fix the problem with the rifle.

Damage falloff is laughable, and its still a 1 hit kill regardless of range, and no, there isnt bullet drop, just pinpoint accuracy.

You know when you get to choose what weapon you want?
I want the same to happen to grenades. You choose between grenade, HMG, Pistol, Mortar and posibly mines.
But I would realy like mortars to be used using map co-ordinances like E3 or B7 ex.
And I think that the current rifle acuarcy is being removed so they can transfer it to a future weapon, the sniper rifle.

And by using Map co-ordinances for mortars I mean placing mortar, right clicking it for map to appear, choose the "grid" for bombardment (red if out of range, green if in range) and left clicking to fire mortars.

One more thing whith mortars I would enjoy would be that they had a bomb-falling screatching sound for warning, and atmosphere.

This is just my opinion of course.

At first I was thinking that each person spawns with artillery shells, but that would be overpowered if you could launch them anywhere. So, I think that the best idea would be for everyone to spawn with the artillery SHELLS, but you have to go to (a) specific spot(s) on the map to launch them, one person at a time, to prevent spam. Also, to keep idiots from hogging the launcher, even if they have no shells, you automatically dismount the cannon when you run out of bullets, and you have a max time of 30 seconds on the cannon before it kicks you off.

2. Gun Customization
Weapon attachments and proficiencies (gulp!) like in CoD. This is one of the only things that was done right in MW3, and I don't see any downsides.

Hm... the artillery seems to be a really good idea. Though to prevent griefing, you can't blow up blocks (or it just destroys one or something), but it's really effective against players. As for the weapon modifications: no, No, and NO. If you want a scope, go to gamebanana and get one.
