1). Not sure how often you play. I play way to much. Many hours Am and Pm.
I find a match without spawn camping extremely rare. Hell I have done it myself. Its a load of fun to pick off a dozen or more enemies in the back of the head before detection. That said, I don't do it often because its not challenging.

1.a) If we could switch weapons in game. Without dying and having to respawn. Switching weapons would indeed be a great solution, to most complaints about weapon balance in this game. I personally would use all of them when appropriate. As it stands now I just pick 1 and play awhile.

2). Um not sure about your reply here. What I meant was perhaps the chat needs more work. Maybe the OpenGl version will solve this problem. It just doesn't bother me to not read while playing. In fact I would love to have the option to turn chat off completely. My 8 year old son plays with me, and he really doesn't need to be subjected to the kind of foolishness being typed in. And for those who are wondering he is far better behaved then most players typing in this game.

3).Anti-cheat will require constant updating. Until the would be script writers get bored and move on. I have seen no updating or even announcements, that this issue is even being considered. Perhaps and it is my hope, that the new auto-updater will be used on a regular basis to address this issue. Until this is addressed I can not see this game becoming desirable to the main stream. Punkbuster comes to mind it was the precursor to Valves Vac. Yes I am old. :)

3a). Paying = problems solved? There has been NO statement that I have read/found from Ben, that this would be the case. I would not assume just because you changed the version number and charged a fee that the code would be any different. Also, the people that would hack out a score at the expense of the rest of the players for "lulz". IMHO Will not be paying for a copy anyway, they will simply run a pre-hack-injected pirate copy for free. Some have hinted as much already in this forum.

(belongs in differnt topic) As for the Brazilians Polish players, I believe they are hear to stay. They like the game and will buy or pirate it as they see fit. Expect many more countries to join as well. I remember post months ago. A Korean AOS forum leader asking in this forum to line up some matches. I was sad to see, none of the so called pro players so vocal in this forum, step up to the challenge.

1.a) Die and have a weapon suitable for the situation is what I am referring to, not weapon switching without death in-game.

2). Yes, now that I see it, it dose need more work on it. An option to turn off chat completely would be wonderful. My only complaint is that it would remove important messages such as a vote-in-progress, and who has the intel.

3a). It's not official, however, too much speculation about it is flying around to simply ignore it. Registration could be used to track players who have purchased it could be used, without the player having the game account registered as paid, they won't be able to access the features, much like minecraft.

It is not official, so unnofficial that Ben himself confirmed it on the IRC, AFAIK.

Ben already said 1.0 will be paid.

First thing I did in 0.76:

I love having the rifle accuracy again. I didn't notice the bullet damage drop off at all, which is nice because that was the part of the changelog that was most concerned about.

I never really felt that the SMG needed to be buffed at all. If anything, the shotgun needs to be buffed. I rarely see anyone with a shotgun anymore.

I only played against one person though, my opinion may change if I play against a larger group.

No you're not, and this is where I truly hate the so called rifle "pro's"for failing to understand. After the release of the smg and the shotgun, the rifle was INTENDED to stay long-mid range. However, some people noticed the high RoF could be used in close combat and so they did. And that completely wrecks the game system from any normal player's perspective: You have 3 close range weapons. One gun, the shotgun is completely useless because you can't get in enough shots before a rifler or smger kills you. The smg is considered OP because it is the only weapon that can stand a chance against the rifle. And the rifle is supreme because ti works at all ranges, even outside of its intended range.

So basically a lot of this "bring back the .70 rifle" is bogus made by players who aren't used to the fact that they can't use the rifle at close range anymore due to its RoF and shotty buffs. Now it will require even more skill to use the rifle hipfire style for maximum mid range effectiveness. So basically, at the end of the day, bcoolface want these type of weapons:
- A Decent Higher Accuracy, Semi-Auto Rifle
- A Mid Range Assault Rifle
- A Fast Autoshotgun OR A Slow. Pump-Action Remington.

And here's what the biased players want:
- An FN-FAL that can work at at any range, any time, anywhere.
- A MP5K cause all the pro's hate getting killed by the smg. They want lower accuracy.
- Shotgun shouldn't even exist to them.
A leader, a sniper, a creator...
an admin, and a loyal clan member of USAB.

Finding the FUN point is always a tricky one.

TBH there's no fun in the RC for me. I'm looking forward to .76.1

Needs:
  • Slight SMG nerf
  • lag fixes (the random spikes get seriously annoying, esp. during firefights)

Wants:
  • Rifle recoil nerf (slightly)
  • 'Jamming' bug glitch fix (also irritating in firefights)
  • sidearms/secondary weapon, ex. handgun
  • turrets/mortars, as said before me
  • 1 more weapon, maybe low-power, high mag cap, mid fire-rate LMG

    The poor man's knife is currently the spade... A handgun would be nice while you retreat for ammo.

    Turrets in the open gl soon... Ok maybe not soon. Consider your airstrike as your mortars, I don't think that's happening anytime soon...

It's also weird that the SMG-Headshot doesn't kill you.
You know, in Real Life every Headshot kills you with a rate of 97,5%.
It needs a Handgun or a 2nd weapon too, like the others said.
It's just important to make it more realistic,
but still LEGO-like.
But one thing they should never build into game: Claymores!
They destroyed CoD and BF3.
Those are my ideas.

That's for balance. Even a 2-headshot-kill SMG was overpowered.

I don't think it destroyed BF3. Only TDM. But if you are playing TDM in BF3, you shouldn't be playing BF3 =P

I want the shotgun spread reduced just a bit, and then I want the SMG nerfed so it doesn't dominate anywhere. Then, the weapons will be balanced in my opinion. I might actually use the shotgun at some point if the spread is reduced a little.
