Pointlessly accurate?

For all things AoS!

I don't really understand this thread.
You make a scope, and you want its centre to be in the right place. Even with the slight randomness it's best to get the centre right on the centre of spread.
I use mikuli's red dot, because it's as close to the centre of the screen as you can get for 800x600. I like to know if when I click at least I was being accurate, even if the mucked up spread took it off.

<@mikuli> the bad part in this plan is that it involves an already busy tea-drinking scone chomper with a monocle

Shots are normalized towards a centerpoint.

An alternate to the bell curve.

If you had posted this a couple months ago AND if we know how the firing cone worked beforehand, you wouldn't sound too insane.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

Remember the .70 firing cone is around 20% smaller than the .75

The model doesn't matter, in any case you will maximize your chance of a hit by trying to get the center of the reticle on to the center of the enemy's head.

Exactly. However because the exact center of the crosshair is between 399 and 400, we cannot have perfectly accurate sights. We are left with half of a pixel inaccuracy with every crosshair. No crosshairs are perfect. So I use one pixel at 399 because it gives me the greatest range of vision.

I see it as fine the way it is. It might occasionally miss, but what are you gonna do? Something that is pinpoint accurate gives you a nice area of where the bullet should go. That's been established.
Now I just see this thread almost like one huge troll to test our logic now.
I'm cool with that, if it is.
So, pinpoint gives us something to aim at, that area it is almost certain to hit, crosshairs are good to have around so that you don't go too far off.
If you have a circle for a scope... Something is very wrong with your understanding of bullet spread. It has no insane kickoff. But if you don't like the rifle it's not our problem. Millions might think the same way as you on this but for every one there is 4 who are fine the way it is.
It's your way, so have it your way. BURGER KING.
I like my scopes with a pinpoint, crosshairs on the side please. Enari's creation style.
Damn straight I'll kill a guy with that. Ambushed a few guys, lost all my bullets and got around 10 kills. 5 served per person.

I just realized this thread must be old, the creator of it hasn't posted recently. I had no business being here. Oh well! It's like the occasional miss, what are you gonna do?

Somehow I don't think our recent conversations were the original topic. I think what he was trying to say is that people shouldn't specifically ask for pixel precision scopes. They should realize that spread is only going to cause severe inaccuracies in those scopes.

That's my reaction to you summing up the thread.

You are enlightened, thus compliment.

So, pinpoint isn't really going to help that much due to spread.
